Each student's name is written in 4" block letters on their section of the wall. They are permitted to put things on their section that identify themselves. For example, they may choose to put pictures of their families, pets, hobbies, friends, etc. I feel this activity makes the students feel comfortable in the classroom and gives them a sense of belonging."
